Setting Preferences/Password Changes

Each person can make several selections on how they want to work in MD Coder Web.
 
To set your preferences or change your password, click on My Account in the upper right corner of the screen:

 
On this screen, you can change your password.  You will see the Password and Confirm Password fields: change both.  Password requirements are shows below the Confirm Password field.  The default password setting is for at least 8 characters, and to include an upper case letter, a lower case letter, a number, and a special character with no spaces.


On the same Account Information screen, near the bottom you can set whether or not to be copied on collector emails:

Click Save before changing screens. 

To set additional preferences, scroll to the top & click on User Preferences:

 
This screen gives you several options to help you streamline your process when working in MD Coder Web.  Here is a short description of each item.
Default Case Type – if you are creating cases, you can pre-set the case type you use most often.  As you create new cases, you can change the case type when needed.

 
Default Location – if you are adding patients to be synced to the physician’s phone, you can preset the location you used most often.  As with the Default Case Type, change the location as needed.

 

Default Service Group – if your practice is using Service Groups, you can preset the Group you work with most often.
Require Patient Address – this control would be set for physicians if the patient address needs to be completed when they add a new patient via the phone app.
Sync X-Cover Patients – this control would be set for physician if desired.
Patient Referring Provider Required – this control would be set for physician if desired.
Default Date of Birth – this is used primarily by physicians; this control has now been moved to the phone app.
Synchronization Batch Size – this control can be set if the patient list is extremely large (over 1000 patients) to speed up the sync process.
Charge History download Limit – this control is preset to 10 charges.  This is another way to keep the sync process moving quickly for the mobile app.
Default Initial View – choose the screen you want to see when logging into MD Coder Web:

Use long code descriptions for mobile – this selection is used by the physicians to see the long code description on the phone app instead of the medium description (standard). 
Mobile Discharge Patients on Remove – if this is selected for a physician, when they remove a patient from their phone app, the patient will be auto-discharged in the Web Portal.
Show Code Descriptions in Charge Entry – on the Web Portal charge entry/edit screen, show the CPT description in the charge instead of the Notes field.
Remember Last DOS – set this option for physicians to pull the last date of service to the phone app.
Default Patient List Search Type – if you use the patient search function on the Web Portal frequently, choose the field you search for most often.  Patient Name is the default.

 
Default Location Filter Code – set a code to use for the selected default location.
Receive Follow up Notifications – activate this option to receive notifications when a follow up template is created by the physician.
Receive Follow up Types: this is a dropdown to choose the type of follow ups you want to receive notification for.
Receive Stale Charge Notifications – activate this option to receive notifications when a charge has been in the same status longer than the set threshold.
Disable Charge Status Change Email Notification - if you do not want to receive email notifications of charge status changes, select this checkbox.
Receive Draft Charge Notifications - to receive a notice when charges have been in Draft status more than 7 days, check this box.
Receive Submit Charge Notifications - to receive a notice when charges have been in Submit status more than 7 days, check this box.
Receive Approve Charge Notifications - to receive a notice when charges have been in Approved status more than 7 days, check this box.
Receive Rejected Charge Notifications - to receive a notice when charges are moved to Rejected status, check this box.
Enable PQRS: click the checkbox if you will be documenting PQRS measures.
Enable Quick Pick: used in charge entry - allows faster entry of charges directly from the Patient List screen.
Enable Append Previous ICD: when activated, this will allow ICD codes from a previous charge for the selected patient to be copied to a new charge.
